Job summary

HushOne, Inc. seeks an engineer to design durable encrypted storage with snapshots, integrity checks, and robust schema migration.

You will separate personal records from derived indexes and disposable caches, collaborating with privacy engineers on backup keys, retention, deletion, and restore behavior. In this role you’ll focus on recovery-readiness and ensure backups can be restored without silent data loss, testing recovery paths and migration strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience with databases, filesystems or synchronization systems (API level below).
• Understand crash consistency, compaction, and migration and have been burned by at least one.
• Know how an apparently successful backup can fail during restoration.
• Test recovery rather than assume it works.

Responsibilities

• Design durable encrypted storage, snapshots, integrity checks, schema migration and conflict handling.
• Separate personal records from derived indexes and disposable caches. Work with cryptography/privacy engineers on backup keys, retention, deletion and restore behavior.
