Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
• 2–5 years in government relations, public policy, or policy analysis.
• Hands-on legislative tracking, bill analysis, and policy research.
• Excellent writing and editing for internal stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of state legislative processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative team player with stakeholders across units.
• Exposure to education policy or regulated industries desirable.
• Experience with policy content such as summaries or amendments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor state legislative and regulatory activity across policy areas.
• Develop policy scorecards and track progress against objectives.
• Review legislation and regulatory proposals; summarise provisions and implications.
• Produce updates: trackers, digests, alerts, and concise summaries.
• Prepare internal briefings; organise research and synthesize inputs.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to reflect operational context.
• Support leads with background research, bill comparisons, and impact analysis.
• Draft policy-facing materials: one-pagers, talking points, Q&As, letters.
• Prepare briefing packs for meetings with policymakers and external stakeholders.
• Track deadlines, hearings, and engagement milestones; maintain records.
• Improve tracking processes; develop templates and ensure version control.
