Qualifications

  • One year governmental experience including one year of work directly related to legislative analysis; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Veterans' preference applies under Pennsylvania law.

Responsibilities

  • Legislative Research: Draft responses and research inquiries from legislative offices.
  • Bill Analysis: Review proposed and current legislation to determine fiscal, program, or legal impact.
  • Policy Support: Assist in drafting bills and relay information to the Governor's Legislative Office.
  • Legislation Monitoring: Track bills related to Department programs and education.
  • Information Coordination: Compile legislative comments from program offices and prepare summaries.
  • Communication Tasks: Help maintain contact with House and Senate offices and assist with testimony preparation.
