Job summary

Lyric is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead architecture and implementation of mission-critical systems across our platform. This senior contributor role combines hands-on coding with shaping engineering standards, mentoring engineers, and driving scalable, secure solutions.

As a technical leader, you will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software, while guiding design reviews and RFCs, and resolving production issues to maintain

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight (8) years of software engineering experience in designing and shipping large-scale systems.
• Deep proficiency in one or more backend or full stack languages (e.g. Java, Go, Python, TypeScript).
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, API designs, databases (SQL and NoSQL), and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement core services, systems, and APIs with a focus on scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Lead design reviews, code reviews, and contribute to technical documentation and RFCs.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Investigate and resolve critical production issues to ensure reliability and uptime.
• Drive adoption of engineering best practices, tools, and frameworks across teams.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers.
