Job summary

Lyric is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Remote - US) to drive design and implementation of mission-critical systems across our platform. As a hands-on technical leader, you will shape architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and codify standards while building scalable services and APIs.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions, resolve critical production issues, and promote best practices across teams.

Qualifications

• Eight years of software engineering experience designing and shipping large-scale systems.
• Proficiency in one or more backend or full stack languages (Java, Go, Python, TypeScript).
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement core services, systems, and APIs with a focus on scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Lead technical direction and code reviews across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Drive engineering best practices and documentation, including RFCs.
• Investigate and resolve production issues to ensure reliability and uptime.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to grow their skills.
