Job summary

Lyric is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to drive design and implementation of mission-critical systems across our platform. As a high-level individual contributor, you will lead architectural decisions, influence engineering standards, and mentor engineers while staying hands-on with scalable software.

Responsibilities include architecting core services, guiding cross-functional teams, reviewing designs, and ensuring reliability in production systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, designing and shipping large-scale systems.
• Proficiency in backend or full stack languages (Java, Go, Python, TypeScript).
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement core services, systems, and APIs with a focus on scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Serve as a technical leader across multiple projects, guiding system design and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Lead design reviews, code reviews, and contribute to technical docs and RFCs.
• Investigate and resolve production issues to ensure reliability and uptime.
• Drive adoption of engineering best practices and tools across teams.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to grow technically.
