Job summary

Grainger is seeking a Staff Software Engineer IV to lead the engineering of the Customer Order Domain. You will coach engineers, collaborate with Product Managers and Architects, and drive the design of scalable software solutions across multiple channels.

You will focus on delivering high-quality applications, mentoring teams, and enabling continuous delivery while partnering with IT leadership to implement strategic technology initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years as a Software Engineer in modern engineering environments.
• Expert knowledge of JVM, Kotlin, TypeScript, React.
• Strong backend focus with working knowledge of frontend.
• Knowledge of distributed system design and integration patterns.
• Understanding of event-driven data streaming architectures.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and DevOps practices.
• Ability to analyze and communicate complex problems clearly.
