Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its Orders Platform in the United States. You will shape the technical strategy for the entire order lifecycle—from creation to fulfillment and post-order operations—and lead multi-team initiatives to improve reliability, observability, and scalability of complex commerce workflows.

You will collaborate across Payments, Fulfillment, Catalog, and Data teams, driving architectural leadership and hands-on contribution on critical code paths.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing, developing, and operating large-scale backend or platform systems.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives end-to-end from architecture to rollout.
• Expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, idempotent workflows.
• Proficient in Go, Java, or Python.
• Relational and NoSQL database experience.
• On-call ownership, incident management, and SLOs.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• BS or MS in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with payments/orders/logistics platforms is valuable.
• Familiarity with Kafka or Pub/Sub and outbox patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-team initiatives to improve reliability, scalability, and performance of a large-scale Orders platform.
• Define and drive technical strategy for the complete order lifecycle.
• Architect event-driven, idempotent workflows for orders, payments, and fulfillment.
• Establish invariants, observability, and auditable histories across services.
• Collaborate with Payments, Fulfillment, Catalog, Fraud, Data, and Infra teams to build reusable platform capabilities.
• Modernize architecture with multi-tenant abstractions and secure integrations.
• Design secure platform capabilities for automated, agentic commerce workflows.
• Develop APIs and tools for AI systems to interact with orders safely and measurably.
• Lead architecture reviews, spikes, launches, and cross-team efforts.
• Contribute hands-on code and mentor engineers on best practices.
