Job summary

CommandLink is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to Own the monitoring surface end-to-end, including API and UI, and to shape the architecture for scalable, real-time network insight. You’ll work on end-to-end surface coverage from account hierarchy to device and service dependencies, ensuring the platform remains navigable at scale.

You will mentor engineers, define contracts with telemetry and classification services, and drive architectural decisions in ambiguous spaces.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of network and system topology and how devices, services, and infrastructure relate to each other.
• Production experience with high-volume, latency-sensitive infrastructure and event streaming.
• Ability to work with contract-driven development and protobuf.
• Experience with network telemetry signals in production.
• Strong cloud experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proven track record of owning architectural decisions in ambiguous spaces.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and long-term direction of the monitoring product's API and UI.
• Surface the full account and device hierarchy and dependencies at scale.
• Lead discovery and inventory experiences for onboarding new devices and sources.
• Build screens for alert history through the alert service.
• Define data contracts with classification, telemetry, and alert services.
• Set patterns for rendering and interacting with complex hierarchical network data.
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve cross-team dependencies.
• Mentor engineers to raise production-grade standards.
• Take on additional responsibilities to support team success.
