Blackboard is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our remote United States team. You will help build a consumer product that verifies authenticity of thinking and learning, with ownership from design to production in a small, high-integrity team.

You'll ship end-to-end features, leverage AI tooling in your workflow, and contribute to shared libraries and standards as the product grows. Candidates should have a strong background in full-stack development and product thinking.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or related field with minimum 6 years of experience.
• Native use of AI coding tools in daily workflow.
• Experience shipping full-stack products to real users with accountability.
• Strong product instincts for UX improvements beyond tickets.
• Ability to move quickly, decide under ambiguity, and improve codebase.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end feature development from spec to production.
• Use AI-assisted tooling to maintain high output without sacrificing quality.
• Contribute to shared component libraries and codebase standards.
• Stay on the bleeding edge of circumvention tools and industry competitors.
