Mysten Labs, Inc. is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to partner with the Walrus team, driving deep architectural security guidance across the lifecycle from design to deployment.

You will lead assessments, foster a security-first culture, and apply AI-driven automation to reduce risk while enabling high-impact security research. This is a remote, global role with strong engineering leadership collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of industry experience in security engineering at Staff (E6) level or equivalent.
• Extensive experience as a security generalist across infrastructure, application, and cryptographic security domains.
• Strong proficiency with automated security tooling and AI/ML or advanced static/dynamic analysis to improve security at scale.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams during design to mitigate high-risk design flaws.
• Excellent communication skills to influence direction and lead cross-functional security initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead security assessments for new features and contribute to security initiatives.
• Promote a security-by-design culture before code is written.
• Leverage AI-driven tools to identify and remediate security gaps.
• Provide strategic security oversight across infrastructure and product security.
• Collaborate with leadership to prioritize the security roadmap.
• Mentor engineers and establish security best practices.
