Job summary

General Motors seeks a Technical Lead in Embodied AI to drive multi-quarter roadmaps for vehicle dynamics and controls software. You will architect interfaces with perception, prediction, and planning, ensure safety and performance, and mentor teams across the organization.

You will shape software architecture for GM’s Super Cruise, Active Safety, and Driver Assistance programs, guiding verification, validation, and scalable autonomy initiatives while advancing GM’s engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.S. in controls, optimization, path planning, or related field; B.S. with strong work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Shape the technical vision by owning multi-quarter roadmap designs for vehicle dynamics and controls software.
• Architect and implement system designs and interface contracts with perception, prediction and planning systems, ensuring performance targets and safety constraints.
• Lead technical reviews and drive software engineering best practices across the team and organization.
• Contribute to Active Safety, Driver Assistance, and Super Cruise development.
• Guide engineers through system design and implementation with focus on safety and compute efficiency.
• Establish verification and validation strategies for vehicle dynamics and controls software, including simulation and on-road testing.
