Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Dynamics and Controls) to lead vehicle dynamics software for the Super Cruise system. You will architect designs and coordinate with perception, prediction and planning teams to meet safety and performance targets.

You will drive verification, validation, and CI processes, mentor engineers, and help shape GM's autonomous software strategy across a large distributed development environment.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in controls, optimization, path planning, or related field.
• 3+ years in motion planning or related field.
• Strong understanding of optimal controls and trajectory optimization.

Responsibilities

• Drive feature development for vehicle dynamics and controls software in Super Cruise.
• Architect and implement system designs with perception, prediction and planning teams.
• Lead technical reviews and promote software engineering best practices.
• Establish validation strategies including simulation and on‑road testing.
• Define requirements for onboard systems with Safety and Systems Engineering.
