Sardine is seeking a Staff/Lead Architect to drive technical strategy for Consumer and Business Fraud platforms. You will lead multiple teams, design ultra-low-latency backend services, and optimize multi-cloud data ecosystems. The role emphasizes reliability, observability, and rapid developer velocity.

You will mentor senior engineers, shape platform standards, and build scalable pipelines for real-time computations in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering at Staff/Principal/Lead Architect level.
• Experience building highly available distributed systems with ultra-low latency.
• Hands-on with stream processing in production (Kafka, Flink, SQS, PubSub).
• Polyglot persistence across Document, Wide-Column, and Relational databases.
• Platform engineering mindset focused on reliability, observability, and velocity.
• Strong ability to communicate architecture and drive cross-team consensus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the overarching technical leader for multiple teams.
• Architect and optimize ultra-low-latency backend services and a high-throughput rules engine.
• Design data access patterns, partitioning, and caching across multi-cloud databases.
• Develop pipelines for real-time feature computations and aggregations.
• Mentor senior engineers and uphold high technical standards from concept to delivery.
