Sardine is seeking a Senior Data/ML Engineer to own data and ML foundations powering compliance decisions. You will design data ingestion pipelines, build a feature platform, and productionize fraud models in a high-impact IC role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production data and ML systems with ownership of pipelines and models.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with experience in distributed streaming and batch processing.
• Experience in fraud, risk, payments, or identity domains is a plus.
• Fluent in English with clear written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a remote-first, fast-growth B2B SaaS environment.

Responsibilities

• Own data ingestion and pipelines for device telemetry, transactions, and identity signals.
• Build feature platform with one-hour to 300-day windows using Flink and Spark.
• Ensure feature correctness with tests, drift monitoring, and reconciliations.
• Productionize fraud/identity ML models with training on Vertex AI and Kubeflow.
• Design and implement data governance, encryption, and regional residency controls.
• Collaborate with data scientists, backend engineers, and fraud analysts.
