Courtyard.io is hiring a Staff Data Engineer to own the data foundation powering our pricing engine. You’ll lead data ingestion, canonical item modeling, and real-time data workflows, shaping the architecture for scalable analytics across marketplace, vault, payments, and events.

You’ll set standards and partner with product engineering to ensure reliable, production-grade data paths. You’ll drive dbt modeling, tests, and documentation while ensuring schema contracts hold as upstream changes

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering with production pipeline ownership.
• Deep SQL and Python; strong dbt experience with tests.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (GCP BigQuery).
• Data modeling, entity resolution, and schema management.
• Ability to work across backend systems and collaborate with AI teams.

Responsibilities

• Own external market data ingestion end to end: acquisition, normalization, delivery into the warehouse.
• Own canonical item model and entity resolution for inbound records.
• Build quality and monitoring to detect gaps and degradation early.
• Own warehouse layer: dbt modeling, tests, and documentation across domains.
• Set schema contracts with product engineering to safeguard builds.
• Support pricing and ML with reliable training and feature tables.
• Elevate data engineering standards across the org and production paths.
