Job summary
Hostaway is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to build the new Trust Accounting subsystem. You will lead architecture, design, and delivery of a production-grade financial backend with a focus on correctness, compliance, and reliability.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in staff-level capacity.
- Experience building production-grade backend services and financial/ledger-like systems is a plus.
- Strong architectural instincts for simple-to-evolve systems with pragmatic trade-offs.
Responsibilities
- Architect a greenfield Trust Accounting system and own the V1 vision.
- Build secure, scalable, auditable backend infrastructure with high quality.
- Establish quality gates, tests, and CI/CD integration.
- Champion best practices for design, observability, and security.
- Collaborate with product, design, finance, and legal teams.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and architecture guidance.
