Job summary

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the organization’s general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable in a government contracting environment.

You will prepare journal entries, perform balance sheet reconciliations, analyze financial results, and support project accounting, labor cost distribution, and contract billing across various contract types, while partnering with the Accounting Manager and program teams.

Qualifications

• GAAP knowledge and strong reconciliation practices.
• 3+ years of general ledger or staff accounting experience, including government contractor exposure.
• Experience with Unanet or similar ERP/timekeeping modules.
• Familiarity with FAR Part 31, DCAA audit requirements, and indirect rate structures.
• Understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition and contract billing.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close, GL accounting, financial reporting, and accounts payable in a government contracting environment.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations; maintain accounting records.
• Assist with project accounting, labor cost distribution, and revenue recognition (ASC 606) across contract types.
• Process vendor invoices, subcontractor invoices, and expense reports; ensure accurate charging to projects.
• Support internal and external audits (DCAA/DCMA) and compliance with FAR and Uniform Guidance.
