Job summary

Neon One is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role covers full cycle accounting, month-end close, and financial statement preparation, reporting directly to the Assistant Controller.

We value accuracy, initiative, and clear communication in a fully remote environment. You’ll collaborate with FP&A, Billing, HR and other teams to support reporting, audits, and process improvements while maintaining GAAP compliance and strong records.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of accounting experience, with exposure to full cycle accounting.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and Ramp is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and analytical capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own full cycle accounting responsibilities, from transaction entry through financial statement preparation.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations as part of the monthly close.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Analyze account variances and research discrepancies.
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requests.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain accurate records for reporting and audit trails.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Billing, HR) to support broader business needs.
