Job summary

Lingenfelter Associates is seeking a Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients in a fully remote role. You’ll juggle multiple clients, industries, and accounting systems while maintaining accuracy and deadlines.

This position requires GAAP knowledge, strong Excel skills, and experience with multi-client environments; familiarity with Xero, Bill.com, and payroll coordination is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of bookkeeping or staff accounting in multi-client environments.
• Solid GAAP knowledge and full-cycle accounting experience.
• Experience with Xero, Bill.com, Gusto or similar tools.
• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables and reconciliations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for client interaction.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients including reconciliations and ledgers.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
• Maintain chart of accounts and consistent client categorization.
• Process payroll or coordinate with payroll providers.
• Apply GAAP to complex transactions and document positions.
• Assist with month-end close and resolve discrepancies.
• Onboard new clients and set up scalable systems.
• Identify process improvement opportunities across engagements.
