Job summary

RELX INC is seeking a professional manager for the Core SRE Team within Business Services. You will provide line management to a team of engineers, oversee performance management, recruitment, and career development, and drive reliability initiatives across cloud-native environments.

You will lead incident response, post-mortems, and RCAs, collaborating with Dev, Security, and Product. The role emphasizes automation, cost optimization, and measurable reliability improvements in a large cloud

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of Kubernetes at scale, including architecture and troubleshooting.
• Expert experience with Terraform and multi-environment provisioning.
• Deep knowledge of Azure Cloud services and cost optimization.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and release strategies.
• Experience with observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
• Strong automation skills to reduce toil and enable self-healing systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for tooling and automation.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPNs).
• Background in SRE/DevOps or infrastructure leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of SREs; conduct reviews and career planning.
• Own hiring, onboarding, and team capacity decisions.
• Set team goals, prioritize backlog, and drive planning.
• Foster blameless post-incident culture and cross-team collaboration.
• Lead reliability initiatives across infrastructure and services.
• Drive incident response and continuous service improvement.
• Champion automation and operational excellence across the platform.
• Support development of scalable, secure cloud-native environments.
