Job description

Senior Software Engineer
OBIX - Remote

We are seeking experienced software developers with a strong background in design, architecture, and development to enhance our FDA-regulated healthcare software suite. The role involves designing new products, developing modules, and improving existing solutions, with a focus on customer needs and quality assurance. Effective communication and a positive work environment are highly valued.

This remote role is open to candidates across the US, with a preference for East Coast applicants.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with product managers to define requirements
2. Design and implement software with the engineering team
3. Analyze requirements and create design documentation
4. Conduct design reviews and provide project estimates
5. Develop, test, and debug software
6. Create technical documentation and support materials
7. Assist testing teams and support staff with technical issues
8. Support sales and clinical implementation as needed

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
2. 7+ years of programming experience, with expertise in Python and C++ in Linux and Windows environments
3. Experience with object-oriented design and complex software systems
4. Strong communication skills
5. Knowledge of web technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, PHP) is a plus
6. Experience with databases (SQL, PostgreSQL) and database administration
7. Understanding of networking, client-server architectures, and operating systems
8. Familiarity with mobile applications and documentation practices
9. Experience in regulated industries is preferred
10. Ability to analyze complex business concepts and translate them into technical solutions
11. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
