Responsibilities

Site Reliability Engineering at Affirm is a crucial team that helps our Engineering partners to “Operate What They Own” with excellence, protecting customer experience. SRE defines frameworks, builds tooling, provides training, and consults. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing data and visibility on application performance
• Guiding the development of SLOs
• Driving Incident Management and Analysis
• Implementing Change Management and Deployment practices
• Engaging in service and architectural discussions
• Recommending observability and alerting configurations

The team benefits from experience in infrastructure, platform, distributed systems, capacity management, automation, observability, and development.

What You'll Do

• Own and deliver quarterly goals, lead engineers through ambiguity, support delivery
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics, participate in ideation, articulate technical constraints, and consider risks
• Identify and lead solutions for project, process, technology, or business issues
• Support team operations, create and monitor metrics, support on-call efforts
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership through code review and standards
• Develop talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example

What We Look For

• 4+ years designing, developing, and launching backend systems using Python or Kotlin
• Experience with highly available distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes
• 4+ years in SRE or Production Engineering

Additional Details
