Job Description

Summary: The Senior Director, Government and Business Relations, will manage government relations activities, including interactions with agencies like the IRS, state revenue departments, CERCA, and industry trade groups. The role involves maintaining client relationships and overseeing operational projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and trade associations.
  • Advance SBTPG’s interests in government relations.
  • Coordinate industry collaboration efforts.
  • Work with teams to identify business questions and develop analytical solutions.
  • Keep management informed about government relations trends and opportunities.
  • Create and manage business plans for government-related opportunities, including initiatives like the Debt Indicator and Fast Forward product.
  • Support client relationship management with select partners.
  • Contribute to the development of new revenue initiatives.
  • Assist with operational aspects of SBTPG as needed.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support business objectives.
  • Stay updated on government relations trends.
  • Document processes and methodologies comprehensively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in government relations.
  • Experience in non-government roles related to operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for translating complex info into actionable insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the tax industry.

Position Type: Regular

Pay Range: $183,000 - $274,500 annually, determined by qualifications, expertise, and location.
