Job summary

TELUS Health is seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to safeguard data, ensure security, and support our client operations across the US. You will maintain mission-critical databases, monitor performance, and drive disaster recovery while collaborating with client services and deployment teams to meet SLA expectations.

The role blends hands-on administration with cross-functional teamwork in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of hands-on SQL Server database administration experience.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and later versions.
• Solid SQL and PL/SQL skills; familiarity with MySQL is a plus.
• Comfort working in Windows O/S environments and Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Customer service mindset; understanding that client success is shared success.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and secure SQL Server databases supporting client operations.
• Proactively monitor database infrastructure, respond to alerts, and resolve issues quickly.
• Execute backups, configure policies, and lead disaster recovery activities.
• Perform routine maintenance, tuning, and resiliency optimization.
• Collaborate with client services and deployment teams on requests and releases.
• Document systems and maintain CMDB as a reliable source of truth.
