Job summary

Brain Co. applies frontier AI to specialty insurance, building AI that reads policies and converts them into structured, decision-ready data. You will annotate policies, review AI outputs, and help define rubrics and benchmarks that shape our ML pipelines.

You will work directly with engineers and insurance professionals to ensure accuracy and practicality. This part-time, contract role offers 2–10 hours per week for 3–4 months, with remote-friendly collaboration across our AI and product teams.

Qualifications

• USA-based with 3+ years in excess and specialty insurance; 5+ preferred.
• Experience as underwriter, coverage attorney, or consultant in E&S.
• Ability to read declarations, forms, endorsements end-to-end and explain coverage.
• Clear communication with non-insurance engineers; translate practice into product requirements.
• Part-time contract role with remote-friendly collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Annotate policy structures within excess policies: limits, sublimits, retentions, attachments, layer stacking.
• Render coverage conclusions based on insuring agreements and exclusions.
• QA and correct labeling of AI outputs; grade agent performance against expert standards.
• Resolve ambiguous and unusual scenarios to determine product applicability.
• Build evaluation rubrics and review workflows to measure extraction accuracy.
• Shape product behavior: determine how coverage should be interpreted and presented.
• Be a translator between documents and engineers to explain terminology and market conventions.
• Define ground truth by reviewing real policies and endorsements to calibrate AI.
