Brain Co. in the United States is applying frontier AI to specialty insurance. We build AI that reads specialty policies — declarations, forms, endorsements, schedules of underlying — and turns them into structured, decision-ready data.

We need experienced specialists to help us do it right. You will work directly with our engineering team: annotating documents, reviewing AI output, and helping build rubrics and benchmarks that define quality for our ML pipelines.

Qualifications

• USA-based with 3+ years in excess and specialty insurance.
• Experience as underwriter, coverage attorney, or consultant in E&S.
• Ability to read and explain declarations, forms, endorsements, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Annotate policy towers: locate and annotate limits, sublimits, retentions, attachment points, and layer stacking.
• Render coverage conclusions: assess insuring agreements and exclusions to conclude coverage for described scenarios.
• QA and correct labeling: review AI output, fix mislabeled data, and grade performance against expert standards.
• Adjust the hard cases: resolve ambiguous or unusual situations affecting product trust.
• Build evaluation rubrics: design scoring criteria and review workflows for extraction accuracy.
• Shape product behaviour: decide how coverage should be interpreted and presented to users.
• Be our translator: explain terminology and market conventions to engineers.
• Define ground truth: review real policies to determine coverages and exclusions for AI evaluation.
