Job summary

South Carolina Bridge Connections Academy (SCBCA) is seeking a Special Education Teacher who will work from your home office in South Carolina to virtually manage instructional programs for students with special needs. You will use phone, internet, and curriculum tools to support learning coaches and students and ensure successful completion of each instructional program.

You will develop, write and implement IEPs and 504 plans, evaluate tests, and conduct parent conferences while coordinating

Qualifications

• Degree in Special Education or related Education Field.
• Additional certification in a core content area preferred.
• Experience in policy (IDEA) and/or administration with Special Education.
• Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for events.

Responsibilities

• Manage instructional programs for a caseload of students with special needs.
• Develop, write and help implement IEPs and 504 plans.
• Evaluate tests, complete report cards and conduct parent conferences.
• Communicate with parents/learning coaches to meet IEP goals.
• Coordinate with teachers and district professionals to ensure compliance.
• Provide direct services via web-conferencing as needed.
• Schedule and conduct IEP-related meetings in a virtual environment.
• Maintain accurate data in the LMS and special education software.
• Assist with state testing accommodations and related services.
• Other duties as assigned.
