Job summary

The Kentucky Virtual Academy, the districtwide virtual program of Cloverport Independent School District, is seeking a full-time special education teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The salary will follow the district's certified salary schedule.

As a SPED teacher, you will provide instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs as defined by each student’s IEP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and appropriate state teaching certification.
• Minimum six months of student teaching experience.
• Past performance data required for teachers with >1 year experience.
• Ability to travel monthly to support students and attend activities.

Responsibilities

• Implement instructional strategies to engage students.
• Create instructional resources for varying needs.
• Collaborate with parents and colleagues on goals, curriculum and materials.
• Host live synchronous sessions to promote a positive learning environment.
• Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment as needed.
• Document IEP goals and communications with parents and staff.
• Provide SPED services and support general education teachers.
• Travel to assigned areas to support students and attend meetings.
