Job summary

ACCEL Schools' Virtual Preparatory Academy of Oklahoma seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with IEPs in a fully online program, with occasional in-person testing and events in Oklahoma.

You will implement IEPs, write plans, collaborate in MTSS, maintain confidential records, prepare progress reports, deliver instruction 1:1 or in groups, and participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and staff collaboration to close achievement gaps.

Qualifications

• Three years teaching experience, with at least 2 in special education
• Current Oklahoma certification/licensure in appropriate area
• Strong content knowledge in one or more subject areas
• Familiarity with MTSS processes and state proficiency standards
• Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to online teaching tools
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing IEPs for each student
• Write IEPs in a timely manner
• Participate in MTSS
• Maintain student records per federal/state/local mandates
• Complete paperwork and progress reports on schedule
• Deliver instruction 1:1, in small groups, or whole class sessions
• Administer and prepare assessments and testing
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, psychologists, and administrators
• Schedule and participate in IEP and other meetings
• Keep accurate gradebooks, attendance, and behavior records
