Job summary

Alabama Connections Academy is seeking a Special Education Case Manager to oversee a caseload of students with special needs. You will participate in all steps of the IEP process, collaborate with teachers, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations from Athens or a home office within Alabama.

You will utilize technology to complete IEPs, reevaluations and progress monitoring, coordinating with providers and families to address needs and implement specially designed instruction

Qualifications

• Degree in Special Education or related Education Field.
• Valid Alabama Special Education certification.
• Must be K-12 certified.
• Experience in IDEA policy and/or administration with Special Education.
• Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Customer focused approach; high flexibility.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for events.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write and help implement IEPs.
• Ensure compliance of IDEA documentation.
• Evaluate tests and complete progress monitoring.
• Communicate with parents/learning coaches about IEP goals.
• Coordinate with teachers for specially designed instruction.
• Schedule IEP meetings in a virtual environment.
• Assist in program modifications and strategies for all students.
• Manage paperwork and procedures for the IEP process.
• Coordinate related services with providers as needed.
• Collaborate with third party providers for transition planning.
• Maintain data in LMS and SPED software.
• Assist with state testing and required adaptations.
• Draft transition plans and conduct interviews.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
