Job summary

Alkira is seeking a Solutions Engineer, Pre-Sales (West) to lead platform demos for technical decision makers and to own the pre-sales cycle from first conversation through POC to close. This remote US role covers Pacific, Mountain or Central time zones with travel ~25%.

You will partner with Account Managers, influence product roadmap, and guide customers on design and deployment best practices while collaborating with a strong SE team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales engineering role.
• Strong networking fundamentals; essential for all design work.
• Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, and static routing.
• Understanding of SD-WAN and overlays (GRE, VXLAN).
• IPsec VPNs and secure connectivity architectures.
• Experience with cloud connectivity across AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Enterprise network design across data centers and multi-cloud.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers.
• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or cloud networking certs.

Responsibilities

• Present and demo the Alkira platform to technical decision makers, from engineer to CIO.
• Clearly articulate the Alkira value proposition with market and competitive understanding.
• Partner with Account Managers to understand customer requirements and assist with technical asks.
• Scope, run and win Proof of Concepts end to end with senior SE support.
• Assist customers with design and deployment based on best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Management to provide feedback from customers.
• Track and drive key customer features with Product Management to implementation.
• Contribute to the wider SE team by sharing designs and reusable materials.
