Job summary

Velera, a remote-first payments technology provider, is seeking a Solutions Architect to define and communicate a shared architectural vision for scalable, secure solutions across software, data and infrastructure.

You will collaborate with product owners and stakeholders, guide agile teams, evaluate new technologies, set standards, and optimize cloud resources and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and work experience.
• 8-10 years in architecture, IT, or related roles.
• Advanced experience with programming and/or scripting languages (Microsoft stack preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of API technologies and integration solutions.
• Prior experience with Agile/Scrum framework.
• 2+ years cloud/hybrid-cloud experience including 1 year with PaaS and 6 months with Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate a shared architectural vision for the solution.“fit for purpose” across software, hardware, infrastructure, data and security.
• Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective architectures.
• Collaborate with Product Owner to understand strategy and guide Agile teams while ensuring enterprise standards.
• Evaluate and select technologies, platforms and tools to meet solution needs and drive innovation.
• Define standards, patterns and artifacts for architecture and ensure scalable performance.
• Plan integration with existing systems and third-party services for seamless data flow.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resources and costs; manage vendor evaluations.
