Job summary

COGNITIVE MEDICAL SYSTEMS INC is seeking a Solution Architect for remote work to own the DDPS/PRS technical architecture and cloud strategy. You will serve as the AWS and data platform anchor, overseeing multi-AZ VPCs, Snowflake/Redshift/Databricks/Athena, Airflow, and integration with CMS TRA and ARS.

The role demands 10+ years in solution architecture and strong AWS expertise, with the ability to design compliant, high-availability systems for federal programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; 10+ years in solution/enterprise architecture.
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification or equivalent depth of AWS expertise.
• Hands-on production fluency with Snowflake, Redshift Serverless, Databricks, Athena, Airflow, S3 and Lambda.
• Experience ensuring CMS TRA, ARS, FISMA and NIST compliance in a federal cloud environment.
• Ability to design multi-AZ, high-availability AWS architectures for high-volume processing.

Responsibilities

• Own DDPS/PRS technical architecture, cloud infrastructure design, and DevSecOps pipeline oversight.
• Maintain the full CMS AWS environment across Production and Non-Production VPCs.
• Design and optimize the data platform including Snowflake, Redshift, Athena, Airflow and Databricks.
• Drive cloud optimization, cost strategy, and multi-cloud data sharing integrations.
• Ensure AWS security services and ARS compliance, collaborating with the DevSecOps Lead.
• Support CMS AI/ML initiatives within CMS governance and evaluations.
