Job summary

Commence is hiring a Sr. Data Solutions Architect to design scalable data platforms and lead delivery across product, platform, and enterprise data assets. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, and client teams to translate complex data needs into robust architectural solutions.

This role emphasizes architectural rigor with a builder’s mindset, cloud-native delivery, and guidance through proposals, RFPs, and client engagements. Remote-friendly across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8–10+ years in solution architecture, data engineering, or platform roles.
• Experience architecting data platforms using AWS, Databricks, and Spark.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead end-to-end data solutions in cloud-native environments (AWS, Databricks).
• Define scalable architecture patterns and reference implementations.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and client teams to translate needs into designs.
• Produce documentation: diagrams, data flows, and design specs.
• Lead pre-sales / discovery efforts and guide implementation strategy.
• Ensure alignment with security, HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST controls.
• Mentor Data Team and raise architectural maturity across projects.
