Energy Solutions seeks a Director of Solar Outreach and Market Strategy to lead market growth for Illinois solar programs within the DERs group. The role blends program oversight, cross‑functional software collaboration, and strategic client engagement.

Located primarily in Chicago or US-based with travel; requires leadership of diverse teams, deep solar market knowledge, and strong financial and negotiating skills to advance climate solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, energy, policy, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with program implementation and growth, ideally in demand response and/or storage program administration.
• At least 5 years of supervision and leadership of multigenerational teams.
• Familiarity with the North American solar market, especially Illinois and income-qualified offerings.
• Experience with client and contract negotiations and renewals.
• Strong financial acumen including budgeting and profitability.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to balance competing priorities and solve complex problems.
• Willingness to travel quarterly to Chicago; additional travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of a large solar program market outreach team.
• Coordinate with IT to develop and enhance program software.
• Monitor budgets, timelines, and risks; address bottlenecks.
• Stay current on energy codes and incentives to inform decisions.
• Review client deliverables and ensure high standards.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team across roles.
• Develop client and partner relationships and ensure satisfaction.
• Drive strategic leadership and alignment with growth targets.
• Support proposals and business development for DERs.
• Represent Energy Solutions at industry events and boards.
