Job summary

RRC Power and Energy seeks an Electrical Engineer II - Solar to design and support utility-scale solar PV systems across US and Canada. This role combines remote work with potential travel to project sites, requiring experience in power systems, PV design, and interconnection infrastructure.

The candidate will prepare electrical designs, equipment specs, and interconnection documentation, and ensure compliance with NEC/IEEE codes while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Renewable Engineering.
• EIT designation required; PE license or ability to obtain.
• 5+ years in power systems or solar/renewable energy.

Responsibilities

• Apply electrical engineering principles to design and development of utility-scale solar PV systems.
• Prepare complete electrical design packages including one-line diagrams, layouts, grounding plans, and specs.
• Design and support medium/low voltage systems for solar facilities (inverters, transformers, interconnection).
• Perform electrical calculations (voltage drop, short circuit, cable sizing, grounding).
• Ensure designs comply with codes and safety regulations; coordinate with utilities and project teams.
