Job summary

UpDoc in the United States seeks a seasoned Software Quality Engineering Lead to build and lead the quality function for its clinician-supervised AI platform. This is a fully remote role and you will shape the strategy, standards, and tooling for safe, reliable healthcare software.

You will drive risk-based testing, establish end-to-end traceability, and embed automated testing in CI/CD, working closely with Engineering, Regulatory, and Clinical teams to deliver objective verification evidence

Qualifications

• Seasoned QA/Quality Engineering leader with engineering discipline and hands-on testing experience.
• Experience in regulated medical device or SaMD environments with risk-based testing.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead UpDoc’s software quality engineering function, including strategy, standards, infrastructure, tooling, and processes.
• Own the risk-based test strategy across patient- and provider-facing products, backend services, APIs, integrations, and clinical workflows.
• Establish traceability between requirements, risks, and verification activities with reports and evidence.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks across the product stack and support exploratory testing.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Regulatory to translate design controls into practical verification practices.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD while maintaining evidence required for regulated development.
• Define release-readiness criteria and provide evidence-based status assessments.
