Job summary

UpDoc in the United States seeks a seasoned Software Quality Engineering Lead to build and lead the quality function for its clinician-supervised AI platform. This is a fully remote role and you will shape the strategy, standards, and tooling for safe, reliable healthcare software.

You will drive risk-based testing, establish end-to-end traceability, and embed automated testing in CI/CD, working closely with Engineering, Regulatory, and Clinical teams to deliver objective verification evidence

Qualifications

Seasoned QA/Quality Engineering leader with engineering discipline and hands-on testing experience.
Experience in regulated medical device or SaMD environments with risk-based testing.

Responsibilities

Build and lead UpDoc’s software quality engineering function, including strategy, standards, infrastructure, tooling, and processes.
Own the risk-based test strategy across patient- and provider-facing products, backend services, APIs, integrations, and clinical workflows.
Establish traceability between requirements, risks, and verification activities with reports and evidence.
Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks across the product stack and support exploratory testing.
Collaborate with Engineering and Regulatory to translate design controls into practical verification practices.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD while maintaining evidence required for regulated development.
Define release-readiness criteria and provide evidence-based status assessments.
