Job summary

Slingshot Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team building backend services, APIs, and integrations that connect Slingshot products with customer environments and third-party platforms. You will guide architectural decisions, establish API contracts, and ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Backend software engineering experience with architecture and design.
• Experience leading a software engineering team and coaching engineers.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration workflows.
• Experience collaborating with external vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, testing, observability, and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers responsible for backend services, APIs, and product integrations.
• Provide technical guidance on architecture, API contracts, and integration layers, including vendor collaborations.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop engineering talent; coach performance and career growth.
• Set priorities, manage delivery, identify risks, and communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders.
• Establish documentation, testing, release readiness, monitoring, and runbooks for production systems.
