Job summary

Slingshot Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team building backend services, APIs, and integrations that connect Slingshot products with customer environments and external platforms.

You will guide architectural decisions, foster a culture of accountability and technical excellence, and ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable delivery while coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, or operating RESTful APIs, service-oriented or microservice architectures.
• Experience with Kotlin, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Kafka, and Typescript.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automated testing, and production operations.
• Leadership experience, coaching, and team development in a software engineering context.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers responsible for backend services, APIs, and product integrations.
• Provide technical guidance for backend APIs, services, and integration layers.
• Collaborate with Product Management, vendors, and internal stakeholders on architectural directions.
• Establish ownership, escalation paths, and working agreements with internal teams and external partners.
• Promote reusable integration patterns and ensure secure, reliable, scalable solutions.
