Job summary

Leidos is seeking motivated software engineering and AI interns for Summer 2027. The program offers remote work with periodic on-site requirements at Scott AFB, IL or Ft. Meade, MD.

You will work in the GSM-O II contract, contributing to DISN defense operations and cyber defense projects. You will develop dashboards, Kafka integrations, AI/ML features, and automated testing, while participating in Agile ceremonies with a distributed team and gaining hands-on experience in build/deploy pipelines

Qualifications

• Citizenship and security clearance: U.S. citizen and ability to obtain interim Secret DoD clearance.
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Data Science.
• Experience with Git and Bitbucket.
• Experience developing on UNIX command line.
• Strong communication to collaborate with a virtual team.
• Willingness to report on-site at Scott AFB, IL or Ft. Meade, MD when required.

Responsibilities

• Create Kibana visualizations and dashboards for users and support staff.
• Develop Kafka integrations between Elasticsearch/Logstash and Databricks.
• Develop and apply AI/ML and automation capabilities.
• Assist with deployment, configuration, testing, and maintenance of Kafka and Elastic clusters.
• Develop automated tests using tools like Selenium, JMeter, and JUnit.
• Build CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Artifactory, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, and Bitbucket.
• Collaborate with an Agile team in a distributed environment and participate in daily scrums.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation, infrastructure, and system issues.
