Job summary

Leidos in the United States is seeking motivated software engineering interns for Summer 2027. As a Software Engineering & AI Intern on the GSM‑O II contract, you will work within the GAINS team to build intelligent systems handling high‑volume data, with exposure to AWS, Databricks, Watson AIOps and cybersecurity automation.

The role is primarily remote with mandatory on-site visits at Scott AFB, IL or Ft. Meade, MD for milestones.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in CS, SE, or DS.
• Proficient in Python, Java, and SQL.
• Knowledge of UNIX CLI and HTML/JavaScript.
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software in Python/Java/SQL.
• Create dashboards and visualizations for data using Kibana or similar.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with distributed Agile team and communicate progress.
• Assist with deployment, troubleshooting, and infrastructure tasks.
