Job summary

Leidos seeks motivated software engineering students for its Summer 2027 Internship Program. You will work as a Software Engineering & AI Intern on the GSM-O II contract, focusing on Python/Java/SQL development, dashboards, Kafka integrations, and AI/ML automation.

The role is primarily remote with periodic on-site requirements at Scott AFB, IL or Ft. Meade, MD. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and pursue a degree in CS, Software Engineering, or Data Science.

Qualifications

• Software development experience with Python, Java, and SQL.
• Working knowledge of HTML and JavaScript.
• Experience with Git and Bitbucket.
• UNIX command line proficiency; team collaboration with virtual teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test and deploy software (Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL).
• Create Kibana dashboards and visualizations for users and support staff.
• Develop Kafka integrations between Elasticsearch/Logstash and Databricks or other systems.
