Job summary

Rula is hiring a Software Engineer to empower our Revenue Cycle Management team with scalable platforms, services, and internal tooling that power payments, claims submission, and workflows across the revenue cycle. You will collaborate with product and design teams to deliver reliable systems and optimize performance.

The role emphasizes strong software engineering fundamentals, product thinking, and a growth mindset, with a remote-first environment across most U.S. states (excluding Hawaii).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience working directly with product and design teams.
• Experience building highly responsive, scalable, reliable, available, and performant systems.
• Experience driving all phases of the development lifecycle: planning, execution, and measuring success, post-launch maintenance.
• Understanding of modern applications architecture, API design patterns, data modeling, security, performance, and scaling; frontend architecture including component-based design, state management, and rendering performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable platforms, services, and internal tooling powering payments, claims submission, and workflows across the revenue cycle.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Apply software engineering fundamentals and product thinking to solve complex operational challenges.
• Contribute across the full development lifecycle from planning to post-launch maintenance.
