Job summary

Dimagi's US Solutions Division seeks a full-stack software engineer to work primarily on the CommCare platform and related development opportunities. The role emphasizes rapid prototyping and impactful work with front-line workers worldwide.

The position is remote, with priority given to candidates in the Greater Boston area; interviews require in-person presence at CIC Cambridge, and the role can be based from the CIC office if preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Fluent in Python.
• Proven background in building quality software for the web.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactively manages own work and surfaces blockers early.
• Able to work autonomously and prioritize tasks.
• Familiarity with Python, Django, Postgres, Elasticsearch, JavaScript, Alpine.js, HTMX, CSS, Bootstrap, HTML.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools.
• Enthusiasm about public health and international development.
• Familiarity with open-source technology.
• (bonus) Experience with data engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build new features using modern practices like version control, CI, automated tests, and daily deploys.
• Collaborate with multicultural teams around the globe.
• Build software for users facing challenges in remote locations and with low literacy.
• Deliver product features as part of a team.
• Participate in agile processes, code reviews, and release testing.
