GibbsCAM is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to a large-scale Windows desktop CAM application. You will work from product specifications, diagnose defects, and write clean, tested code under the guidance of senior engineers.

This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates authorized to work in the United States. A strong foundation in C++ and interest in domain-rich software will help you grow within a long-lived product.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software development experience in a production environment.
• Solid proficiency in C and C++; exposure to modern standards (C++11/14/17) preferred.
• Experience reading, debugging, and extending existing codebases — not just writing code from scratch.
• Familiarity with Windows desktop application development.
• Working knowledge of debugging tools and the ability to systematically isolate and resolve software defects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features for a large-scale Windows desktop CAM application.
• Diagnose and resolve defects with guidance from senior engineers.
• Perform repair, enhancement, and maintenance of software components with clean, tested code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared ownership and improvement.
• Learn CAM/domain concepts to contribute effectively to the product.
