Job summary

Keywords Studios Plc is seeking a talented, fully remote Software Engineer based in UK or EU to join a team of backend engineers across MPG. You will help develop and deploy backend services for large-scale game projects and work with co-dev clients on timely feature delivery.

The role involves server backend development for AAA and free-to-play titles, using AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes and Docker, with an emphasis on scalable distributed systems and leveraging Gen AI for code generation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with backend development using Java, C#, C++ or Kotlin.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud and cloud certifications a plus.
• Solid SQL and NoSQL database experience.
• Background building distributed services and microservices.
• G gambits in version control with Git or Perforce.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to backend systems, write code and manage deployments.
• Keep the project lead and producer updated on revised estimates and delivery timelines.

Job description

(mobile) games, casino apps or similar, with a large number of concurrent users

Key Requirements

• Production experience with at least one of Java, Golang, C#, C++, Kotlin
• Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure; having an AWS Certification (Associate or above) would be advantageous
• Demonstrable database experience with both SQL and NoSQL
• Experience building distributed applications
• Experience with Git or Perforce, or other source control software
• Ability to adapt to new tools, languages, and concepts as required by the project
• Knowledge of Microservices and Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), especially Kubernetes and Docker
• An understanding of how to use LLMs to process and query structured and unstructured data
• Experience using Gen AI for code generation
• Ability to create supporting documentation, designs, comments, etc.

Experience in game development and having worked on at least one game title in a commercial setting developing server backends for AAA games, free-to-play, and support team members in day-to-day work.
