Job summary

Pennwood Cyber Charter School seeks Pennsylvania-certified educators to deliver high-quality virtual instruction to students in assigned grades and subjects. Working from home offices in Pennsylvania, teachers use the Learning Management System, telephone, internet, curriculum tools, and synchronous and asynchronous teaching practices.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania instructional certification appropriate for the assigned grade level and subject area.
• Pennsylvania residency.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated student-centered approach, flexibility, agility, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as a member of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, technology-driven environment.
• Ability to travel for state testing, school events, and outreach activities, including possible overnight travel.
• Ability to work occasional evening hours, as needed to support students and families.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, learning management systems, and related technology.

Responsibilities

• Deliver asynchronous and synchronous instruction to students in whole-group, small-group, and individual settings.
• Complete grading, lesson preparation, and student/family communications within established timelines.
• Maintain knowledge of the K-12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of assigned courses.
• Review curriculum and use alternate instructional approaches to increase understanding and engagement.
• Support students and Learning Coaches with learning strategies, daily assignments, projects, and course expectations.
• Support implementation of Individualized Education Programs, accommodations, and modifications for students enrolled in assigned courses.
• Communicate regularly with students and Learning Coaches through LMS, telephone, and other approved tools.
• Maintain accurate and current student records and data, including attendance and communications.
• Collaborate with Engagement and Counseling Departments to support timely progress and achievement of goals.
• Develop enrichment activities and program modifications to strengthen understanding and engagement.
• Collaborate in professional learning communities to develop Personal Learning Plans and refine instructional strategies.
• Contribute to a collaborative, student-centered school culture and work across grades and departments.
