Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Social Impact & Community Relations Intern for a remote summer internship based in South Carolina. The role runs from May 31, 2027 to August 6, 2027, with up to 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri during business hours.

You will build community relationships, support nonprofit partnerships, track impact metrics, and contribute to communications and grant tasks, gaining hands-on CSR experience.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or a related field with junior or senior standing.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Multitasking and prioritization abilities.
• Proficiency with Excel is required.
• Integrity, maturity, dependability and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing community outreach programs and volunteer events.
• Support partnerships with local nonprofits, schools, and civic organizations.
• Help track and report on social impact metrics and outcomes.
• Contribute to internal and external communications related to initiatives.
• Conduct research on social issues, community needs, and best practices.
• Assist with grant applications, sponsorship requests, and donation tracking.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for new initiatives.
• Gain experience in community engagement and CSR strategy.
• Develop skills in event planning and stakeholder communication.
• Understand the role of businesses in driving social change.
