Job summary

Vekend, LLC is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to design scalable Snowflake-based data architectures and lead data engineering initiatives for government and university environments. You will translate business needs into robust technical solutions, govern data quality and security, and collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to drive delivery.

You will mentor engineers, optimize performance and costs, and implement automation across data integrations, monitoring, and error

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture and/or data engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake Data Cloud.
• Experience designing Snowflake architectures and enterprise data solutions.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data integration.
• Strong data governance experience, including lineage, cataloging, metadata management, data quality, security, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable and efficient Snowflake data architectures aligned with client requirements.
• Lead data engineering initiatives, including data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and integrations.
• Define and implement data governance frameworks covering data quality, lineage, cataloging, metadata, security, and compliance.
• Work directly with clients and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Optimize Snowflake performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement automation for data integration, monitoring, and error handling.
• Define and enforce security practices including encryption, access controls, and data masking.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering team
